MondayMonday isn’t typically a day we look forward to with elation, as say, a saturday. We do not normally sleep in on monday nor take day trips, or have brunch with friends. We do however, look at a monday as the beginning of a weeks worth of goals and appointments that need to be met with places to go and people to see.

Back in the day

Way back when I rented my very first apartment – an incredibly small studio with no air conditioning – I had a neighbor who played a lot of bingo. She always brought along her lucky charms, one of which was a frog. I’ll jump right to my point. You see she won. She always won. I quickly realized, who was I to judge her frog?

Fit Spell

During a workout an idea came to me to start a site. What would I call it and what would I write about? I didn’t exactly know but I did start it, and three and a half years later I’m still plugging away looking for new ways to show why regular exercise is a good thing and helps us function better. I think of the barbell as my lucky charm.

Monday

We all need something.

Action comes before motivation

Instead of looking at exercise as a stress reliever, think of it as preventative maintenance. Monday is the perfect day to workout. To get you’re pump on and start the marathon week off with energy. Successful people tend to believe that action comes before motivation. Why? In this case, there is laying around looking for the motivation to lose the weight or build the muscle, and actually getting up and making the effort. Is it always easy? No. Even those of us who really enjoy working out have our off days. However, 9 times out of 10 once we get going we’re glad we did. A renewed sense of optimism and strength takes over.

The beginning to our week should start with preparation and a clear head. So, what’s stopping you?
